PointPass Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 6, 2026

Overview

PointPass is an iPhone app developed by Leegan Swafford for workplace attendance, schedule management, QR code check-ins, timesheets, live job-site GPS visibility, and admin audit logs. This policy explains what information PointPass handles, how it is used, and what choices are available.

Account And Workplace Data

PointPass stores employee and admin account details such as name, email address, role, department, account status, schedule assignments, temporary-password status, QR locations, timesheet review notes, and admin audit log entries. This information is used to operate the attendance, scheduling, payroll review, safety, and admin-account features.

Attendance Data

When an employee scans a PointPass QR code, the app records the action type, timestamp, QR location, scan status, distance from the QR location, GPS accuracy, and any related notes. Admin-created manual check-ins and check-outs are labeled as manual records and may include the admin note entered at the time.

Location Data

PointPass uses precise location to verify whether an employee is within the allowed QR geofence for check-in or check-out. If an employee turns on work-location sharing and grants Always location permission, PointPass may also record work-location samples while the employee is checked in so admins can view active job-site GPS status. Employees are removed from the live GPS map after checkout.

Location samples can include latitude, longitude, timestamp, accuracy, source, and related schedule or attendance context. This data is used for attendance verification, job safety, timesheet review, dispute review, and admin visibility while employees are on site.

Camera

PointPass uses the iPhone camera to scan workplace QR codes. Camera frames are used only to detect the QR code and are not stored by PointPass.

Map Providers

Admins can search workplace addresses with Apple Maps or Google Maps when creating QR locations. Address searches are sent to the selected map provider to return coordinates for the workplace geofence. Direction links may also open Apple Maps or Google Maps outside PointPass and are governed by the selected provider's terms and privacy practices.

Admin Access

Admins can view and manage employee accounts, schedules, QR locations, attendance records, timesheets, audit logs, and employee-consented GPS samples. PointPass limits admin-to-admin account management so one admin cannot edit, deactivate, remove, reveal, or reset another admin account.

Storage And Retention

The current PointPass app stores its app data in the app's local device storage. Workplace retention, correction, and deletion practices should be handled by the employer or organization using the app. Attendance, GPS, QR, schedule, timesheet, and audit records should be retained only as long as needed for payroll, safety, compliance, and dispute review.

Your Choices

Employees can turn off work-location sharing inside the app, remove Always location permission in iPhone Settings, and sign out. You may request access, correction, or deletion by contacting support or the employer/admin responsible for the PointPass deployment.

No Tracking Or Advertising

PointPass does not include third-party advertising, does not sell personal information, and does not use App Tracking Transparency tracking for advertising.

Children

PointPass is intended for workplace attendance use and is not intended for children.
